Karen is the Director of the East London Teaching School and Co Director of the PLS SCITT. During her career Karen has taken on a variety of roles including Senior Tutor of Sixth Form and for the past eight years as an Assistant Head Teacher. During her career, Karen has led and co ordinated ITT and NQT training, whole school CPD, staff induction, student interventions, student voice, line managed the English and Science departments and aspects of Teaching and Learning. Karen holds a MA in Educational Leadership

Bininder holds a BA (hons) Music, an MA - Arts Criticism and a PGCE in Secondary Music. She has been teaching for 27 years and held a variety of roles of responsibility - Head of Music, Head of Performing Arts, G&T Co-ordinator, Achievement Leader - High Achievers and at borough level in the community music service.
Bininder has worked in the SCITT since September 2017 in the capacity of Secondary Lead Mentor.

Theresa O’Sullivan is a fully qualified and experienced English Teacher. She has over 20 years of experience in teaching and has worked in secondary education as well as the primary sector with a key role in transition. Her current post is at St Angela’s Ursuline School, Newham. During her time at St Angela’s School Theresa has become an AST. She took on the whole school Literacy Co-ordinator role over 12 years ago and is now Lead Practitioner in English and Literacy. Theresa has a BA Hons in English Literature as well as a PGCE. Theresa has worked with trainee teachers for over 10 years through her Lead Practitioner role as well as in her current role within the PLS SCITT. She is passionate about teaching and learning and passionate and supporting those entering the profession. With her wealth of experience in teaching and learning Theresa is a creative and supportive trainer who delivers practical strategies with creativity and enthusiasm.

Amelia has over 10 years working in the ITT sector. Amelia has been a qualified Modern Languages teacher for over 20 years who has worked in the Primary and Secondary sectors. She has taken on the pastoral roles of Head of Year and Assistant Head teacher in inner city London schools. She has also been an academic Head of Modern Languages Faculty. She has worked at the University of East London for ten years as a Senior Lecturer in Primary ML as well as delivering foundation subjects across the curriculum. She has been a tutor working in partnership schools alongside ITT colleagues. She has a keen interest in both ML and Primary ML. Her interests in Modern Languages extended into her Master’s study on second language acquisition and motivation.
Mariella holds a BA (hons) in English Literature and a PGCE in Secondary English. She is the Co Director of PLS and has been teaching for 14 years. She has held a variety of roles of responsibility – Key Stage Three Lead in English, Deputy Head of English, NQT and ITT Co-ordinator. As Deputy Head of English she supported the development of the curriculum and CPD. She has played a key role in developing many teachers to become successful practitioners and go on to make outstanding contributions.

Ko Poon is the ITT Lead for St Edward’s Catholic Primary Teaching School and the Primary Lead for the PLS SCITT. Prior to taking on the role as Primary Lead, Ko Poon was a Senior Lecturer and PE Lead on the Primary PGCE Programme at the University of East London. During his career, Ko has also been an acting Deputy Head Teacher, Assistant Head Teacher as well as a Leading Mathematics Teacher in Newham. Ko also has a keen interest in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) which guided his dissertation for his Master’s Degree researching a range of Head Teachers’ viewpoints and perceptions upon ITT and Initial Teacher Education.
Ko Poon PLS - Primary ITT LeadSt Edwards Catholic Primary School
Leanne Peck is a PLS tutor in the Partnership London SCITT and drama teacher at The Sydney Russell School. In her 11 years of teaching experience, Leanne has been; Head of Drama, line manager for Dance, a mentor to four successful drama trainees, an NQT mentor and Professional Co-ordinating Mentor. She is also an experienced HA form tutor and has supported KS3, 4 and 5 students in a pastoral role. Leanne has a Bachelor or Arts degree from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She completed a GTP in Drama in partnership with UEL. She also achieved a NPQML qualification from the IoE in 2016. Leanne works tirelessly to provide access to quality arts education for young people. Leanne is dedicated to facilitating and developing initial teacher training, frequently engaging in research and scholarship to inform and improve her practice.
